Art Journal Play

It’s made up of multiple talented artists that are taking a prompt and sharing their creative process with a little mini project based on the prompt. I’m excited to be a guest artist in the project. It’s hosted by Leaca Young Art.
Read MoreFragments... we are all just fragments in bloom don't you think? 🌸 Fragments of our faith, our experiences, our heart, our mistakes, our good deeds... all of it. Most of us are just trying to keep all the good pieces together and shine our light in the world to make it a better place.
Watch the process art journal video as I work through adding paint and “fragments” to a page.
Read MoreIt's time for another Junque Art Studio Play™ video! (Formerly Fast Forward Art Play™) It's really all about playing, having fun, and discovering new things. I try to make time several times a week to play and explore in my art journal. To get in the "play" state of mind I find it helps when I limit my time to 30 minutes or less. When my time is limited I tend to not over think things and just let things happen. (Most of the time anyway.)
Read MoreIt's time for another Fast Forward Art Play™ video and it's time to CELEBRATE spring! During this play time I challenged myself to work with a color I don't normally use...purple. Now my niece loves purple, but I am just not a purple girl.
It was a bit of a challenge to work with the purple at first, but I do love how the page came out combined with a few of my favorite colors. I really LOVE the new stencil I got from Stencil Girl by Maria McGuire. I know I will be using it a lot! I also love the surprise I got when I was collaging some vintage paper on the center of the flower. I was getting ready to use one side and flipped it over to see what the other side looked like and found the word "celebrate" stamped on it. I had stamped the word at some point and the scrap piece ended up in my paper stash. I love little fun surprises like that. So I decided to name the page celebrate in honor of spring!
Read MoreI am finding that if I make time to create, my creative muse is more likely to stick around. That's always a good thing. I don't like it when my muse decides to go on vacation without telling me and with no word of when it will be back. So to try to keep my creative muse happy, I have been really making an effort to carve out small chunks of time each week to just create for the sake of creating.
Read MoreHey sweet creative peeps! Today I wanted to share with you one of my passions…art journaling, and why I love it! Back in 2004 when I owned a retail scrapbook store altered books were starting to creep into the scrapbook world. I was hooked immediately!
Read MoreOn of my favorite things to do is work in my art journals. I thought you might enjoy watching me work in one of my favorite vintage journals. I started without a plan and just worked freely and went with my intuition as I worked. It's all about playing and learning and making time for art.
Read MoreSometimes it is really hard to listen. And when you do hear it, sometimes you want to just ignore the whisper. But when the whisper becomes so loud you can't ignore it you finally have to take action. That is what I am doing. I am listening to my heart and really doing one or two things each day to work on what it has been telling me for a while now.
I made this journal page several months ago when my heart was whispering to me. I set my timer for 30 minutes, had no plan, and just started creating in my art journal. I did fast forward the video to make it shorter for you. I am sharing this process video with you in hopes that it touches you in a way to follow your heart too, or at least to make some time to have some fun and create something!
