A Stitched Pocket Notebook

WELCOME TO THE SUMMER BLOG HOP WITH A TWIST!

I'm so glad you found your way here! Today kicks off the Summer Blog Hop with a Twist with Roben-Marie and her Design Team. We have the usual art inspiration and giveaways, but the twist is that there is also a SALE! More on the giveaway and the sale in a bit.

First let's get started on this fun little stitched pocket journal project. With just a few supplies it's a simple little project that you can stitch up while watching your favorite Netflix show. It makes a great notebook to throw in your purse, pocket, or give as a gift.

Supplies Needed

Here's the supplies I used and as a plus Roben-Marie is having a sale in her shop! Yay! So be sure and take advantage of the sale!

Let's Get Started!

Cut a piece of muslin or cotton fabric bigger than your embroidery hoop. Stamp the cute house image from the Shine Rubber Stamp Sheet onto the fabric with Ranger Archival Ink. Then heat set with a heat tool.

Secure the stamped fabric in the hoop and start filling in the house shapes with a simple backstitch. Leave the roof tops empty for now.

Continue to stitch the houses. I used variegated embroidery thread to get the change in color.

Change the thread color and stitch the roof tops.

Add some details with grass stitches.

Cut or tear the fabric down to size to fit the front of the pocket notebook. Glue on the front of the notebook with a glue stick or fabric glue. I used a glue stick and it worked just fine. Be sure and work the fabric to smooth it out. It will be a little bumpy where the stitched are so be sure and put glue on the stitches too so it all sticks down really good.

Add an Art Pop In The Garden Sticker for a sun like shape. Even though it's a sticker be sure and add glue to the back so it sticks well. Add detail with a gel pen to extend the Art Pop design.

Add Art Pop Cards with Art Pop Stickers as tip-in pages inside the notebook. Let the cards stick out a bit to add fun interest to the notebook. Add more Art Pop Stickers as tabs on the side of the pages.
