WELCOME TO THE SUMMER BLOG HOP WITH A TWIST!
I'm so glad you found your way here! Today kicks off the Summer Blog Hop with a Twist with Roben-Marie and her Design Team. We have the usual art inspiration and giveaways, but the twist is that there is also a SALE! More on the giveaway and the sale in a bit.
First let's get started on this fun little stitched pocket journal project. With just a few supplies it's a simple little project that you can stitch up while watching your favorite Netflix show. It makes a great notebook to throw in your purse, pocket, or give as a gift.Read More
I love making and working in art journals, I really love making small ones. This month I'm over at Roben-Marie's blog creating a fun small tag book using colorful supplies combined with vintage items.Read More

We are all grateful for things but do you stop often enough to reflect on the everyday things? The everyday things are so important and make up our beautiful, messy, and sometimes complicated lives. Come join me and 9 other beautiful artists in November for a journey of reflection and gratitude in The Gratitude Junk Journal Workshop. I am so blessed and thankful to be a part of this class and can't wait to guide you through a lesson of gratitude.Read More
It's time for another Junque Art Studio Play™ video! (Formerly Fast Forward Art Play™) It's really all about playing, having fun, and discovering new things. I try to make time several times a week to play and explore in my art journal. To get in the "play" state of mind I find it helps when I limit my time to 30 minutes or less. When my time is limited I tend to not over think things and just let things happen. (Most of the time anyway.)Read More
I am over the moon excited to announce I'll be teaching in Hacking The Color Wheel with 13 other talented ladies. It is hosted by Kiala Givehand and we can't wait to get crazy with color! I'll be teaching in Session 2 but I do hope you will take advantage of the full class! Both sessions are going to be amazing! In these courses we will focus on how to use colors in a variety of ways. From color wheels and swatches, to mono-color studies, color mixing, and crazy color combinations, these classes are all about how we can use color to create a feeling, a mood, and/or a story about our past, our present and our future.Read More

I'm super excited to be sharing an art journal page tutorial over at StencilGirl Talk today! Hop on over to see the details and learn how to create a fun "marbled" background that features one of my favorite quotes.
If you found your way here through StencilGirl, I am so thrilled you stopped by! Please make yourself and home and say hello! I love getting to know new creative peeps!
One of the reasons I started this little online creative space was to encourage others to make time for creativity. I truly believe everyone is creative! My first self hosted workshop that went live in November was a great leap towards that goal of inspiring others. Thank you to all the sweet peeps that have purchased my workshop so far and trusted me to lead you in a creative journey. I have been blown away by all the wonderful Artsy Doris you have created! And for a short time (through tomorrow 6/21) the Artsy Dori Workshop is on sale! You can find all the details right here that includes a preview video. Keep creating everyone! It's a beautiful thing!
It's time for another Fast Forward Art Play™ video and it's time to CELEBRATE spring! During this play time I challenged myself to work with a color I don't normally use...purple. Now my niece loves purple, but I am just not a purple girl.
It was a bit of a challenge to work with the purple at first, but I do love how the page came out combined with a few of my favorite colors. I really LOVE the new stencil I got from Stencil Girl by Maria McGuire. I know I will be using it a lot! I also love the surprise I got when I was collaging some vintage paper on the center of the flower. I was getting ready to use one side and flipped it over to see what the other side looked like and found the word "celebrate" stamped on it. I had stamped the word at some point and the scrap piece ended up in my paper stash. I love little fun surprises like that. So I decided to name the page celebrate in honor of spring!Read More
How would you like to go on an amazing creative journey with me in 2016? I would love for you to come along! I am tickled pink and honored to be a teacher in The Journey Within: A Year of Handmade Art Journals with book maker, Kiala Givehand and 16 other amazing artists. The class starts on January 1st and goes for the entire year.
Each month, Kiala with teach you how to make your own handmade art journal, give you prompts, tips, and techniques for filling the pages. There are 6 core artists along with guest artists each month that will be sharing their take on the themes and prompts, and their art journaling process.
To kick off this amazing course, Kiala has created a book for December and asked each guest artist to give her a challenge to complete during the month.
Today is my challenge. Here’s what I asked Kiala to do:
I believe it is so important to make time for creativity. So for this challenge watch my Fast Forward Art Play #3 from my blog post, Just Create.
Pick two techniques that I show and use in any way you want. Focus your page around the word Journey to kick off this wonderful Journey Within.
I encourage you to try the challenge I gave Kiala and leave a comment with a link to your art so I can see your awesome work!
Make sure you check out each wonderful artist in the December Blog Hop challenge. They have got some great challenges for Kiala for the month of December before class begins in January.

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. But to me just the act of creating is true beauty no matter what the outcome. Over the last few weeks I have been working on an exciting project (more on that soon). But I have also been making time to work in my art journal. One of the fun ways I get inspired to work in my art journal is by using the great prompts for the Documented Life Project at Art To The 5th. The super talented ladies over there are so full of inspiration. Any time I need a little push I know I can head over there and get a quick creative push.
These are two recent pages that I've created using the Documented Life Project prompts.
How do you get inspired when you need a little creative push? I'd love to know in the comments.
